About the area |
Originally named Harrisburg, the name was changed when the apparently inexhaustibly supply of natural gas was found. In a few short years the population went from 150 to over 3,000. Factories and other businesses thrived. But not long after, the gas was gone and people returned to agriculture. However today there are over 6,000 people here and a new Industrial Park. They have a Gas City Museum here. Located in the Misisssenewa River, it is reached via I 69, US 35 and State 22. |
