About the area |
A statue of James Whitcomb Riley, the Children's Poet is in front of the Courthouse and was built with money raised by children. In the fall the school children parade and place flowers at this statue. The Plaza and Riley Park is the place for festivals, fairs and music. Greenfield is the County Seat for Hancock County named for the first signer of the Declaration of Independence John Hancock. Lots of airports here and a heliport at Hancock Memorial Hospital |
