About the area |
The first courthouse was a log building. Not sure if the current one in Brownstone is made from brownstone.
Town was named for Jacob Brown a General in the War of 1812. Jackson-Washington State Forest and Hoosier National Forest are in the vicinity. The Farmer's Market in the summer has items strictly from Jackson County. Enjoy the great Melonfest in September. |
