About the area
The water tower in this town is an unusual sight and landmark. This cigarette shaped structure stands approximately 110 feet high. The Harvey House Museum is maintained by the Florence Historical Society. It holds collections of papers, documents, photographs, and objects from Florence's past. This building was originally the Clifton Hotel built by the founder of the Harvey restaurants, an Englishman. The hotel was known for its English china and silverware and Irish linens as well as its English style landscaping at the front entrance.
