About the area

If you visit the Stockade Museum, you will see a reproduction of the medicine lodges built by the Kiowa Indians to utilize the healing qualities of the Medicine River and for which the town is named. Next door to the museum is the home of Carry Nation, the woman who led the campaign to deprive this nations drinking men and women of their liquor. You can join the hundreds from all over on one of the scenic Gyp Hills Trail rides over the same paintbrush region where the Indians roamed. .
