About the area |
Claflin was incorporated as the 20th century began. A few short years later one of the early entrepeneurs in town opened a hardware, implement, plumbing, heating and repair business. This enterprise grew to where they now have an impressive 13 showrooms and are one of the largest furniture stores in the State of Kansas. Main Street is a existing memory of the past Clsaflin, with facades which are an exact replica of the town from our old-time past and give downtown Claflin a sense of nostalgia. The city has one small park equipped with a playground, tennis Courts, basketball corts and a pool.
