About the area |
Burlington is bordered by two reservoirs; John Redmond to the Northwest and Wolf Creek to the Northeast. The town is justifiably proud of its two new recreational facilities. Built in the late 1980's, its Recreation Center packs an elevated walking track, a 25-yard, six-lane swimming pool, a gymnasium; a fully-equipped weight room, racquetball courts; an aerobics room, a game room, an arts and crafts room, and a child care room into close to 48,00 sqare feet. In the early 1990's the city opened its Aquatic Center. This facility features an eight-lane, fifty-meter pool equipped for competitive swimming. The pool area also has a 120-foot waterslide; a wading pool with a frog slide, an infant area and one and three meter diving boards.
