| About the area |
The city holds two events which provide a lot of enjoyment to its residents and for visitors from near and far. The Crawford County Fair is held in the first full week each August. Besides the displays of fruits, vegetables, homegrown and homemade products by the 4-H clubs, extension homemaker clubs, and agricultural clubs there are other activities. There is the 4-H auction for its members to sell livestock and the ever polpular crowd pleasers, the rodeo and carnival. The annual Girard Fall Festival
held in October has a graeat set of activities and shows. There's a parade, car show, craft and food booths, live entertainment, chili cook-off, bean feed, contests and lots of prizes to go around.
