About the area

The arrival of the railroad around 1869 made Troy an important city for the up and coming commerce. Two old fashioned enterprises remain in town. Nelson's Home Town Pharmacy's old fashioned fountain is complete with stained glass decor. In the old fashioned hardware store on the historic courthouse square you can still see the original manual operated elevator that is still in use.
