Court is usually held the first and third Monday's of the month at 6:00 p.m in the Holcomb Fire Station Meeting Room located at 200 North Lynch Street. The major street in this town is Jones avenue which intersects with US 400 just North of town, then runs South until it turns East in the Northern section of town.

Around 1878 the Sante Fe railroad established a flag station where Holcomb now exists and called it Sherlock. Accepting an offer from the promoters of Garden City to move all the homes and businesses from Sherlock, most residents moved leaving Sherlock a virtual ghost town. However, around 1906 the Garden City Company's Sugar Beet Factory was built at the west edge of Garden City giving new life to Sherlock. It was then laid out and plotted as Holcomb. In the 1950's the Alfalfa Dehydrating Plant started operations in Holcomb. Although defunct since the 1980's it brought more people to Holcomb.
