About the area

The annual celebration of Madison Days is held in June. This festival takes place at various sites throughout the city with free hot dogs and cokes, hamburger feed, pie and ice cream social, biscuits & gravy breakfast, a box turtle race, a street dance and coed sand volleyball tournament as well as other events and live music. A museum dedicated to the memory of one-room schools wis the latest incarnation of the Number Eight School House.
