About the area
The city's Apple festival is held annually in the Fall and Founder's Day is celebrated in the Spring. A Demolition Derby, horseshoe tournament, carnival and parade are featured events at the annual Harper County Fair held in this town in August. Throughout the year church groups and Fraternal orders in this town hold Pancake and Chili feeds. The Harper art museum is housed in the old train station depot. One of Harper County's old school houses is now the site of the Harper Historical museum. The museum has a collection of documents which are part of the local history such as old Harper County atlases, school yearbooks, photos and memorabilia, Harper telephone books and a Harper County directory.
