Be sure to visit the Harvey County Historical SocietyArchives and museum located in the Historical Newton Carnegie Library. In the main hall there are exhibits which show the history of Harvey County from pre-settlement through 2007 with sections on Native Americans, immigrants, schools, medicine and natural flora and fauna. There is also the restored Kellas School a one room schoolhouse circa 1873. The children's library has exhibits which focus on area pharmacies and drug stores and highlight the many small gas stations that once served the communities of Harvey County, a pictorial review of the many small grocery stores that have operated in Newton over the years, a USO Piano from World War II and postcards of Harvey County
