About the area |
The Kingman County Activity center is to place to come to for rodeos, horse sales and animal shows. This indoor arena is equipped with bleachers and keeps spectators cool in the hottest days of Summer. Nearby Kingman State Fishing Lake and Byron Walker Wildlife Area cover over 44,000 acres, within which is the Kingman State Fishing lake constructed in the 1930's. The area is available for a variety of hunting and fishing as well as welcoming campers, hikers and bird watchers. The diverse natural habitat and the enhancements made to the wilflife area make the area attractive to all kinds of game for hunting for which a permit is required. Quail, Pheasants, Fox squirrels, Cottontails, jack rabbits, White-tailed deer and Turkey are some of the game you can find here. The fishing lake has an abundance of largemouth bass, crappie, channel catfish, bluegill, redear, walleye and northern pike for the anglers. |
