About the area |
The sculpture âSpirit of the American Doughboyâ which honors Logan County's Dough Boy troops of WW I is located in the park south of the City building. A sculture consisting of a life size bronze coyote mounted on native stone, called the Survivor of the Plains is located in front of Logan County Courthouse. It seems that this is a city of sculptures celebrating its history. The Kansas Governor's Ringneck Classic is held each November. This event invites a group of hunters to the area to spotlight hunting tourism in Northwest Kansas. There is also a a community dinner and country music concert, an awards dinner, and silent and live auctions. The money raised goes to area charities and the Pheasants Forever wildlife and habitat conservation. |
