A small two-room house with a lean-to kitchen, which later was extended to a 15 room house, the Cole House was built around 1875 and was the first house built in Moundridge. The house was owned by members of the Cole family for over 120 years until they donated it to the City of Moundridge in to be developed as a museum. Exhibits in this museum date from erlier than 1930. The Homestead Trail Celebration is held each October at the museum. There iare activities such as a bon fire, old time music and games, blacksmith, weaving and quilting demonstrations, mountain man camp, horse rides, hay rack rides, cake walk and of course plenty of food. |
