Who better to turn to than your relatives when you are in trouble, so many people thought the infamous Dalton gang of the 1890's were invited by their sister to hide out in her home. As it turns out their tunnel from her house to a nearby stable was not discovered until she disappeared. The Dalton Gang Hideout was turned into a tourist attraction in 1940, when of all people the WPA rebuilt the tunnel. In place of the original dirt tunnel, a stone passageway was built. The barn is now a museum and with Eva Dalton's house, which is furnished with period furniture, is open to the public.
