About the area |
The Meade County Historical Museum offers a composite of the hstory of the city and area. The lifestyle of early Meade County settlers is reflected in the exhibits in this museum. Replicas of scenes from the past such as a sod house, general store and blacksmith shop are a part of the museum's boardwalk exhibit. A representation of early-day transportation is exhibited in the livery stable. If you walk along the West side of the museum on exhibit are replicas of an early-day bank, doctor's office, school room and church. A large collection of railroad memorabilia and artifacts from pre-historic times are also on display. |
