A historical two-story limestone building is Beloit's Municipal buildling. This structure in, addition to housing the city's offices, has within it a gymnasium which is open to the public and is used for recreational and school sponsored sporting events. The gymnasium has a large stage and balcony which can accomodate community concerts. Other facilities in the city available for recreational activities are the Beloit Sports complex with baseball, softball and soccer/football fields as well as consessions, stands and batting cages; and Chautauqua Park with its municipal pool, tennis courts, picnic shelters and playground equipment. The Solomon River wraps around the entire park and a boat ramp is available for small fishing boats.
