As US 283 passes through Norton it meets US 36 in the Northern third of the city.

About the area

Not only does Norton's Elmwood Park have playground equipment, an 18 hole Disc Golf course and a skateboard park but it is the place where the annual Norton County Fair is held in July, the Norton County Equine facility and the Elmwood Park Raceway are located. The park has baseball fields on its east and west side one of which is the home field for Norton High school. From May to September the Equine facilty is the site of horse shows and competitions.
