While you are in Carbondale you might want to vist Jones Youth park to take in an exciting ballgame between youngsters of the town. If running is in your blood be sure to attend the AAu qualifying races held here. The Carbondale Pig Out is held each year on the second weekend after Labor Day. Sponsored by the Carbondale Main Street organization; this event features a barbecue cook off and a street dance. Some of the best BBQ teams around compete here with their different styles of barbecue and there is a competition for best ribs. You just know there will be good eating here.
