Although the area's agricultural industry provides jobs and business; the Larned State Hospital, Larned Juvenile Correctional Facility and Larned Correctional Mental Health Facility also adds to the employment opportunities for Larned's residents. The Larned-Pawnee County airport is located to the Northeast of town. The Larned Fishing Pond, at the Soutwest corner of town, is a great place to spend a lazy afternoon. The pond is regularly stocked and has a large variety of fish in it.
