Grain production is an important segment of the economy here so you know it was a significant event when the headhouse of the Arlington Grain Elevator exploded recently. One person was seriously injured and residents living within a quarter mile radius of the elevator were evacuated temporarily until an all clear was given. Arlington was first settled about 1877 and within three years 3 churches were built. |
