About the area
The Barbed Wire museum, the Rush County Historical museum and the Post Rock museum are all located in Grass Park on the South side of town. The Barbed Wire museum has a collection of over 2,000 types of barbed wire each one of which has varying barbs, twists and points. The Rush County Historical museum, which now occupies the former Timken, Kansas Santa Fe Depot has a large collection of photographs, albums, and scrapbooks which are displayed to tell the story and preserve the history of the people who settled Rush County. the Post Rock museum is in a post rock building originally built as a home around 1883. It has exhibits representing Post rock limestone and its geology, tools and technology used to quarry it and the uses of the material. Also displayed are stories about post rock.
