About the area |
The cottage Cottonwood ranch is representative of the histories of early Kansas ranchers who settled the region. You would think that a place called Mickey's museum would be all about Mickey Mouse; but not so in Hoxie. Here it is a museum started by the Mickey family as a replica of an early-day hardware store with old display cases and merchandise like those in the familyâs original store building of Mickey Hardware. When the collection of items, showing the growth and change of the county grew; another buildingg was added. In the 1980's, the Bee Hive school house, furnished like a schoolhouse in the early 1900âs, was moved from the Studley area to the complex. |
