About the area |
The town is surrounded by flat prairies and huge fields so that the trees which abound here are a welcome relief. This town at its founding was called Veteran but was subsequently moved 7 miles and renamed Johnson. The Cimarron Valley railroad serves the town. There are just a few stores including an old time soda fountain, a hospital, a motel, a couple of restaurants and a couple of banks in town and the Stanton County airport is to the Northeast of town. |
