Around 1880, In 1880, the Sumner County Railway Company was chartered, and built from the Southern Kansas Railway, which was part of the Kansas City, Lawrence, and Galveston Railroad Company joining the Atchison, Topeka and the Santa Fe, southward through Rome, South Haven, and Hunnewell. This town took its name from South Haven, MI. Now days this town has a population of under 400 living in an area less than 1 square mile in size. |
