About the area

The city has a fairly new water recreation facility at the WaKeeney Water park. This facility has everything the kids will like including a large slide, a toddler slide, a dump bucket and deck sprays. Other features in this park are lap lanes, diving boards, a deck with shade structures and concessions and a bathhouse. Visitors can access the Smoky Valley Scenic Byway from Wakeeney. If you go on this scenic trail you will be treated to the sight of picturesque windmills, grazing cattle, limestone bluffs, wildflowers and Threshing Machine Canyon, Butterfield’s Overland Despatch, and the Wilcox School.
