Although the town was started as Newbury around 1870 by an Ohio colony; when the Rock Island railroad set its site as Paxico around 1886, the town was laid out and most of the business places were moved over from Newbury. the townFor a site abounding in beautiful scenery you might visit the Mill Creek Campground and RV Park. This facility has almost 50 campsites, many of which are equipped with water, sewer, and electricity hook-ups and cabins.
