About the area |
This is a small city, lying along the Kansas river, but it has some nice things you can visit and attend for your enjoyment. The National Agricultural Center and Hall of Fame is one of these. It has chicks, calves and baby goats for the kids (human ones that is) to sqeall over, a Hall of Fame of Agriculture which honors men and women who have contributed to the success of American agriculture and every October hosts the International Lineman's Rodeo featuring the best linemen from around the world who compete in events based on traditional lineman tasks and skills. As part of the rodeo, which is free, spectators are invited to take a ride on a lift truck to view the sights from up high. Tye center also has hayrides, train rides and lots of children's activities. If music is your thing their are the concerts at the City Band Concerts which are held in Kelly Murphy Park on Thursday evenings during the months of June and July. |
