Have you ever heard of Wickliffe Mounds? The people know that its roots lie in the Mediterranean Culture. These mounds are a museum and also a historic state site. During the American Civil War, a fort was built in the mounds and was used by the Americans to protect them from the Red Coats and the Native Americans. After 1781, the site was abandoned and almost buried until the Chickasaw Indians found it again. |
