The Battle of Blue Licks in 1782 took place along the Licking River in this city. It was one of the most revolutionary wars that was fought. Even David’s Boone’s youngest son died in the battle along with the others. The civil war field is a strong reminder of what war and hurt can do to the civilized society. These places are meant to be preserved for their history and the valuable lessons of life.
