The Chicopee area is known for producing kielbasa which is a type of polish sausage. The biggest keilbasa in the world was manufactured there and was shown at their festival. Unfortunately, after the 1990s the festival was discontinued but you can still buy kielbasa from the town factory. The area is mostly known for its rivers and tourist area. The rapids near the Chicopee Falls is well known and many avid boaters go through there each year. Kayakes and canoes are usually the boat of choice.
