Holyoke, Mass is known as an idustrialized area where many factories were built in the late 1800s. In the 1890s industrialization in Holyoke made a thriving town. Today the area Chamber of Commerce is trying to build Holyoke\'s factories once again. During the 80s an economic depression forced many places to close. Today with outsourcing factories continue to go overseas. The city has been trying a new way of attracting businesses and is growing the downtown. New museums, restaurants and shopping areas are helping to bring townspeople back. The Connecticut River swims by Holyoke on its way south.
