Ayer Traffic Court gets some cases from the local roads, but with little exposure to major highways it does not get as much as some other courts.
About the area
Ayer, Massachusetts has a population of over 7,000 people. It is a small town but one with a rich history. The town was established in 1667 and the area began thriving with the creation of a corn mill. At the mill site, corn would be crushed into flour and used for bread and porridge. When the Civil War occurred a spot was built in the area to be used by soldiers in training. The camp was later called Fort Devens, but it is not a happening place now. This fort aided in the protection of soldiers and area civilians and would eventually help the town expand its businesses. This helped the town bring in people from the Boston area who also settled there. Today, townspeople are able to commute to the area of Boston because of the close proximity.
