| About the area |
The city of Fort Kent lies along the St. John river and the boder with Canada. The Fish river which runs off the St. John river snakes through town. The city has several recreational sites for the enjoyment of its residents. Riverside Park; located on the banks of the St. John River has among its features a boat landing, RV camping sites, an outdoor basketball court and soccer field. The city's outdoor swimming pool facility, located on the banks of the Fish River, consists of the main pool, a small pool and a bathhouse. Jalbert Park also located the banks of the Fish River has a multi purpose building, an outdoor ice skating rink with lights, two lighted tennis courts and a lighted multi-use athletic field.
