About the area |
West Bath is a long narrow city spreading out over almost 12 square miles but has only a little over 1,700 residents. It is a suburb of Bath. With the New Meadows river at its side; in the 1850âs it was an ideal spot for a gristmill, sawmill and clapboard, shingle and lath manaufacture. The Hamilton Sanctuary is located on a little over 70 acres on a peninsula between the New Meadows River and Back Cove. Here there are opportunites to see Great Blue Herons, Osprey, and migrant shorebirds and waterfowl. |
