This city of about 6700 people lies along the Passagassawakeag river and Belfast Bay. Belfast City park, a wonderful place to spend an afternoon, lies along Belfast Bay an extension of Penobscot Bay. Its gentle slope and extensive beach area offer the visitor an opportunity to relax. For those who want more activity; there are basketball courts, tennis courts, a Little League baseball field, horseshoe pits, a playgound, and a swimming pool available in this close to 15 acre site. Adjacent to the City's public landing, is another dellightful spot, Heritage park, where you can picnic or just sit and watch the activity on the water.
