Officially you would call this court the Murray County District Court. With US Hway 59 to the East, SR 30 to the North and CR's 8 & 32 running through town; there are plaenty of traffic cases to keep this court busy. |

About the area |
Originally Slayton was a train station for the St.Paul Sioux City Railroad. Mr. Slayton, who was a land agent for the railroad, purchased the land around the station at the beginning of the 1880's and planned the city. Slayton is the county seat of Murray County. Like other towns in this area; Slayton feels the need for an airport which it has. The Slayton Municipal airport is located West on SR 30. It's not very big; its single runway is just over 3000 feet in lenght. But it is a place to land if you want to fly into Slayton. Some might be flying in to play the nine hole semi-private Slayton Country club course to the North of the city.
