Carrollton with its population of approximately 3,700 is on the main lines of the Wabash and Santa Fe railroads. Its name was derived from the Maryland estate of a statesman who signed the Declaration of Independence. you can come and enjoy the fun at the Walnut Hills fairgrounds when the Carroll County fair is held in July. The fair has livestock shows, a carnival, free entertainment, lots of good food, a tractor pull and parade. If you thrill to the sound of marching music and like to see bands parade come to Carrollton square and football field in September when the high school hosts the Carrollton Annual Band Day. This event is usually attended by 60 - 70 high school bands in parade and has contests for field bands, parade bands, color guard, twirling, poms and indoor drum line. each of these contests is
divided into classes by enrollment as determined by the Missouri State High School Activities Association. |
