The town, through the sponsorship of the Community Bank of Raymore, presents a movie night in the park on a Friday night in May and a Friday night in September at Memorial Park. This event is free to the public and popcorn and drinks are provided. The annual Raymore Skate competition is held early in June at the Raymore Skate Park. There are three categories in this competition; Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced and prizes are awarded to top finishers in each category. That's not the only competition in this town. There is the annual Walter Buck Memorial Fishing Derby held at Rcreation Park pond with prizes awarded in several categories. This event is open to children ages 2 to 15 and is free . Raymore's Spirit of America Celebration is held on July 4th, to celebrate Independence Day. The event features a classic car show, live musical entertainment, kids games and fireworks at dusk. Food is available for purchase at the concession stand and from on site food vendors.
