When you talk about small towns you have a good example of it in Randolph where the population is under 75 living in an area of less than 1/2 a square mile. That doesn't stop the city from gaining a certain amount of notariety. It has been found in violation of the state's so-called speed trap law. Apparently the town was receiving 75 to 83 percent of its annual revenues from traffic fines and court costs. Most of traffic comes from two casinos sitting just outside town limits and the Oceans of Fun water park just beyond its boundary. |
