Smithville Lake which covers over 7,000 acres is at the town of Smithville. The lake can be used for boating, fishing, hiking and swimming. The Ali Kemp Memorial Stage and Community Courtyard in Smithville's Downtown Heritage District is the scene of Hot Summer Nights a series of free concerts. Other family activities are also a mainstay of this series. You might want to come to the annual Smithville in October for the bands, vendors, carnival, food and of course a nice cold draft. The whole thing starts with a parade complete with bands, floats, vehicles and walking units.
