| About the area |
Bourbon had its start in the early 1800's coinciding with construction of the Frisco railroad. However, the plans for the town were at a sit further East and it was then named St. Cloud. But when the rail lines were laid to the West, the town was built where the steam engines could stop and start where there was no grade. The town of Bourbon was then built along the railroad tracks around 1853.
