This is the perfect place to visit if you don't want to get in your car to get around shopping or to see those wonderful buildings from the town's founding around 1859; many of which are occupied by the present shops and residents. You are sure to enjoy the Apple Butter festival which occurs at the end of each October. In addition to the Apple butter available at the Apple Butter pavilion, there are examples of pumpkin carvings and lots of vendors. Close to 100,000 come to this two day event every year. What was once the Kimmswick Bible Church is now occupied by the headquarters of the Kimmswick Historical Society and an addition to the church houses the museum in which you will find displayed Kimmswick memorabilia, historical pictures, artifacts and maps.
