About the area |
Odessa Puddle Jumper Days are held each year at the beginning of August. This festival has many events including a Lip Sync contest, Bed races, Good Time Oldies Car, Truck, and Motorcycle show, a 5K run/walk and Pee Wee race, the Swim meet at the Odessa Aquatic center, Firefighters' Water Barrel Fight & Bucket Brigade competition and Fiddlers' contest. There's also live musical entertainment, food, fireworks on at the start of the last day the Puddle Jumper Days Parade. At Dyer Park you will find the following facilities; the community building, swimming pool and pavilions, baseball and softball fields, outdoor basketball court, tennis courts, a Rodeo arena, sand volleyball courts, a walking trail and playground areas. Lake Venita which is located in the park is a popular fishing spot nted for the large number of fish inhabiting it. |
