Charleston's annual Dogwood-Azalea festival is held each April. Before you attend this event you might want to Tour the Dogwood-Azalea trail and experience the beauty of these plants at peak bloom. The festival provides different happenings for your enjoyment. They include home tours, a candlelight tour, plant sale, arts and crafts bazaar, a parade, an old-fashioned ice cream social, art show, piano concerts and carriage rides. The festival also has a carnival, doll exhibition at the Clara Drinkwater Newnam library, fish fry, motorcycle show, exotic animal petting zoo, swine races, quilt show and antique tractor show. |
