Although a small town, Jamestown has SR AA, SR Y, SR 87 and SR 179 passing through it.

About the area

With the establishment of a tobacco factory there around 1837, Jamestown was born. This was followed about nine years later by a merchant house. Soon afterwards there were physicians, a druggist, blacksmiths, a harness maker, flour mill, sawmills, a carding machine and a post office in town. The town was incorporated around 1873 and five years later the town hall was completed.
