SR D running through Parma crosses SR 153 which runs along the Eastern border of the town.
About the area
Around 1900, about the same time as the city was established, the Houck railroad laid track through town and farming and logging grew in leaps and bounds. Around 1902 the first store opened in the town although the first building was erected prior to 1900. A year later the town was incorporated as a village also including nearby Lotta. Three years afterwards the town became a fourth class city. The people of this town are trying to bring it back to life by transforming empty school buildings into a complex which will host companies providing a variety of services to the people of Parma and the surrounding area. The people here remember the old days in town by annually celebrating "Down Home Days" in early July.
