About the area |
When Risco started in the late 1800's the entire area of Risco was covered by swamp and it was a logging town although a line of the Frisco railroad ran through the center of town. There is still not much here; the town has three banks, a combination bar and large liquor store, a combination store, cafe and gas station and a grain elevator. Most residents are employed on farms or in nearby towns and the median household income is not bad. Probably one of the biggest troubling news items and puzzling matters in town is how a Risco mother vanished without a trace in 2006. |
